Hey Everyone,

As my U.S. Senate Campaign against Chuck Schumer picks up momentum I have be reflecting on the presidential election and wanted to say some words about why it’s so important to advocate voting Libertarian up and down ballot.

Before and at the 2016 Libertarian National Convention there was an open discussion about the direction of the party, who best communicates our value and takes us down the road forward. While that discussion got contentious at times, the intensity of that discussion just demonstrates what makes the Libertarian Party special, that we allow everyone to be part of the discussion. There was no “free speech” zones because the Libertarian Party is a free speech zone where we talk about real issues, real principles, that have real consequences in peoples lives.

I’ve remained vigilant of the Gary Johnson campaign in the period following the convention to see if I found improvement in many of the areas I discussed prior to the convention and I’m glad to say I see Gary Johnson being a more effective advocate for liberty. Gary Johnson has had several very enjoyable and compelling media appearances such as interviews with Samantha Bee and Stephen Colbert.

The impression I get from non-libertarians is…
– a candidate who speaks to less intervention abroad
– a candidate who speaks to the negative consequences of the nation’s drug war
– a candidate who speaks sanity when it comes to immigration
– a candidate with experience and ability to get the countries fiscal picture under control
– a candidate who takes due process serious

While many passionate libertarians such as myself can always find things here and there to nit pick about, Gary Johnson is a step towards liberty and not taking that step has real consequences. What do we say to the young army infantry who sees a premature end to their life from a unnecessary Trump/Clinton foreign intervention further destabilizing the globe. What do we say to those parents spending less time with their kids because they have to work extra hours to make up for the extra taxes/costs they may pay under Trump/Clinton administration. What do we say to that young adult with a non-violent drug conviction who can’t get a job or a small business loan so they eventually have to turn to full time crime.

Why do we continue to let the major parties punish people otherwise trying to live their lives as best they can, we can promote the libertarian message and help save and improve the lives of millions of people.

All you have to do is vote Libertarian for President, Senator, Congressman, and all the way down the ballot in 2016. Lets make this happen.
